In 2018, after two successful seasons on the market, Halldor Helgason decided to team up with Horsefeathers and introduce Atrip as his signature line within the brand. Since first hitting the shelves back in 2018/19, the Atrip line is back this season with a bunch of colourful, unique, technical outerwear including the Atrip Halen Jacket and Atrip Charger Pant.

Who Are The Horsefeathers Atrip Line By Halldor: Halen Jacket and Charger Pant For?

There might not be a better snowboarder out there when it comes to the ability to combine technical snowboarding with absolute piss-taking. Halldor is known to ride everything and anything whilst making it look incredibly easy.

Continuing to make bold moves within the snowboard world he needs an outfit to match. The Atrip Halen Jacket and Charger Pant are made for the guys looking for a unique design made to match their personality, whilst being technical enough to take them through whatever they set their minds to.

Materials and Construction

Made with bluesign approved Ultratech Shell, both the jacket and the pants are designed to maximize performance across diverse conditions. The shell is laminated with a fully waterproof and breathable membrane and treated with a C6 durable water repellent coating. The C6 coating breaks down faster in the environment and imposes less potential toxicity over time for both humans and wildlife.

The jacket comes with a 40G Primaloft insulation (in both body and sleeves) giving that extra bit of added warmth when needed. The beauty of the synthetic Primaloft insulation is that, unlike down, it is water-resistant, so you won’t get cold if you get wet. Another great quality of the material is its warmth to weight ratio, meaning the insulation retains body heat well without being bulky.

To even things out, the pants come without insulation, providing the option to layer up if needed.

As a rule of thumb, 5K waterproofing is sufficient enough to keep dry on the slopes. However, if slushy snow, occasional powder runs and a likelihood of being exposed to wet snowfall are on your list, 15K will serve you better.

Fit and Features

The regular fitted jacket comes with a traditional cut and sits looser around the body without having a boxy fit as it is still tailored to flatter the individual shapes and sizes. The pants are designed in a slimmer fit, meaning they’ll sit slightly tighter on the hips.

Horsefeathers has teamed up with “Threads By Coats” to provide the best quality on threads as well. Coats has been in the game for over 250 years, speaking for their ability to make some of the strongest and most reliable threads ever manufactured (you’ll find this on both the jacket and pants).

The jacket has also been blessed with magnetic snaps, meaning the pocket snap closes automatically thanks to the in-built magnet keeping keys, phones and cards from falling out.

You’ll also find a pocket keychain in both the jacket and the pants, while the pant’s waistbelt adjusting system will keep them just where you want.

For the packaging, Horsefeathers is also using P-Life biodegradable packaging.
