The first thing to do when buying your child a snowboard is congratulate yourself that they aren’t a skier. After that, it’s your job to get them up to the level where they’re happy and confident cruising the mountain with you, and to make that job easier Bataleon introduced the Mini Shred.
Whilst your mini-me is still getting to grips with sliding sideways, it makes sense to set them up with a gentle and consistent learning curve. Where the Bataleon Mini Shred really excels is in its use of their signature 3BT profile, combining a full-length camber with uplifts in the side bases for a progression based and catch free ride.
“Combining a full-length camber with uplifts in the side bases for a progression based and catch free ride”
As the board is weighted the contact points are lifted off the snow, making it nigh on impossible to catch their edge unintentionally. This confidence boosting profile is matched with the positive camber bend giving them a helping hand and a bit of extra spring power as they start trying their first ollies and carves.
The flat middle section gives them max stability as they progress from the bunny hill and the pre angled side bases engage right at the start of their turning arc so they lock in and learn to turn properly from day one.
“Even though the Mini Shred won’t break the bank, it won’t break after one use either”
The Super Slick X base, lightweight wood core and laminates are the same ones used on some of their fleet of adult boards, so even though the Mini Shred won’t break the bank, it won’t break after one use either. It’s a soft and playful introduction to the world of snowboarding, and while it might be bright and colourful, make no mistake this is still a proper snowboard.
Coming in new smaller sizes you can start your grom younger than ever. The Bataleon Mini Shred is prepped to take your progeny from their falling leaf to their first park laps and forays into the deeper snow.
