A slimmer fit means that the material sits closer to your body, which can usually mean less space for layering. The stretch fabrication though allows for proper underneath layering, without you feeling overly snug and restricted in your movement as a result.

Adding to the pant’s comfort is Burton’s own Living Lining technology, which takes your body’s temperature regulation to the next level. This, however, doesn’t mean that the fibres will let cold air in – when your body temperature starts to drop, the fibres begin to trap heat. It’s clever stuff. We like it.
With a 10K waterproof and breathability rating, the Southside pants are a safe bet if you want a pair of pants to keep you dry round the piste and park. However, if you’re looking for something to wear on the regular when venturing out in the backcountry, we’d encourage you to look at pants with a bit of a higher waterproof rating.
As far as features go, the fully taped seams do a great job when it comes to added weather protection, whilst the two large thigh pockets are great for stashing anything from a phone to a snack bar. The additional zippered pocket on the right thigh also comes in handy, especially for keeping smaller items safe.
