UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019-2020 Capita Scott Stevens Mini here
The folks at CAPiTA have never shied away from bringing on the next generation of riders; their youth version of the Horrorscope (brilliantly titled the Microscope) gave kids a park-specific option, perfect for those in a hurry to hit the park. And they didn’t stop there.
New for 2018/19 is the CAPiTA Scott Stevens Mini snowboard. It’s a nice idea; he may be on the wrong side of 30, but we can’t imagine a better inspiration for young riders than Sleepy. Having invented more tricks than most people will ever land in their lives, he’s living proof of the power of imagination.

Despite the name, this doesn’t share a lot of the premium features of Scotty’s pro model. There’s no cork dampening panels or basalt stringers, and it has an extruded rather than sintered base. However, don’t think that the kids have been short-changed; most of that stuff only really applies to full-grown adults on full send. This is a simpler, softer-flexing board aimed squarely at groms.
The profile is roughly the same, though, and it’s a very kid-friendly one to boot. A gentle rocker bend reduces the chance of an edge-catch on the piste, and makes presses and butters a piece of cake. For a kid wanting to increase their confidence both in and out of the park, the CAPiTA Scott Stevens Mini snowboard has a winning design.
