UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Salomon Trigger here
The Salomon Trigger snowboard bindings return to the Whitelines 100 for 2018/19, purely because they’ve earned their place. The key feature here is the ‘Blaster Tech’ baseplate; unlike the flexible ‘Shadowfit’ version, Blaster features a solid chassis with the exception of two soft rubber supports on either side of the heelcup.
The idea is that it works like suspension; as you put weight on an edge (particularly the heelside), the rubber absorbs some of the vibrations before they can mess with your feet. Whether you’re stomping a landing or holding a carve, these take some of the sting out, and that’s always welcome.

One clever feature does not a winning binder make, however, but there’s plenty of other things to appreciate here. For starters, Salomon retains its ‘Easiest To Adjust’ title. For one, the disc features a system that keeps your screws in place once you’ve removed it, making everything from minor stance tweaks to full board swaps completely hassle free.
