UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 YES Fun Inc here
Maybe it’s because they’ve become dads themselves, but the legends behind YES (Romain De Marchi, JP Solberg and DCP) have ensured their brand caters well for the grom market. The YES PowInc makes its debut this year, but the original was the YES FunInc.
With a name that references the crew’s salad days as part of the Burton UnInc team, the YES FunInc claims to cater for younger riders who have been let down by sub-standard learner boards. That being said, construction-wise it’s a fairly standard offering.
“The rocker profile is a gift for complete beginners, with none of the twitchiness of camber”

The core is full poplar, the fibreglass biax, the sidecut radial and the base extruded. Whilst the YES range uses a lot of clever additives, you won’t find any here. That’s no bad thing, of course; the YES FunInc doesn’t gild the lily, and instead offers up a stable, predictable ride that’s ideal for tentative young shredders.
The rocker profile is a gift for complete beginners, with none of the twitchiness of camber (something that’s been known to put some learners off for life). It also aids flotation in powder, without needing to apply a directional shape, so confident young rippers that like a mixture of freestyle and sidecountry will enjoy what the YES FunInc has to offer.
Now in a new 142cm length, more kids than ever can get in on the FunInc.
