Surprise surprise, Halldor hasn’t been dropped from the Lobster team. Not only is he still one of the finest riders around, he’s also a co-owner. So we’ll continue to see plenty of the Lobster Halldor Pro snowboard, and that’s no bad thing.
It’s a little stiffer than brother Eiki’s Braindomness-friendly pro model, as well as Lobster’s Jib Board and Park Board, so if you like to push the boat out a bit then this would be the one to choose. There’s triax fibreglass for a more torsionally solid ride, and carbon stringers at the inserts that increase the board’s edge-to-edge response. If you’re headed towards a park jump or backcountry booter at top speed, it’s got your back.

It’s not all about the big stuff, though; thanks to the Triple Base Technology, it’s a bit more of an all-rounder than it looks at first glance. The raised sections of side-base at each end make it less likely to hang up on rails and boxes, and so easy to butter. When you’re in the powder, they help keep the Lobster Halldor Pro afloat by displacing the snow to either side – not a lot, but enough to give it an edge over other true twins.
As usual, you can match it with the Switchback Halldor Pro bindings, which (obviously) are made to work with this board like a hand in a glove.
