Getting your hands on a female-specific snowboard that features classic, unadulterated, honest-to-goodness camber can be difficult. Hybrid profiles are much more prevalent among the women’s market, but the new-look Burton Talent Scout takes things back to the traditional bend.
“Intermediate to advanced riders will love its minimal weight, healthy pop and rapid base”

A truly twin board, the Burton Talent Scout is aimed more at park riders, and anyone still finding their feet in that department should probably look for something a little mellower. Intermediate to advanced riders, on the other hand, will love its minimal weight, healthy pop and rapid base.
Whether it’s in the halfpipe or on the groomers, the edge hold you get from this is excellent. ‘Frostbite’ edges, which protrude out slightly at key points to grip firmer snow, can be found on both sides. In fact, they’ve been laid at slightly different spots on the heel and toe edges, to better match the difference between the two.
That’s not the only asymmetrical element; rather than lying truly perpendicular to the board, the core’s sections of varying thickness have been tweaked to fit more appropriately with a freestyle rider’s ‘duck’ stance.
With so much clever tech on display, the Burton Talent Scout is a steal at that price. It could well be the board with which to raise your park game in 2017/18.
