They say: The Chi guy has lost his head, but that shouldn’t stop you getting some.
We say: A new addition to the Stepchild range, this stick features a rocker shape that’ll make pow-riding easy. To counter the lack of pop that rocker boards sometimes suffer from, Stepchild have added a stiffer core.
Tester says: A sweet board – a bit stiff for beginners I guess, but I loved it. Specially in powder.

About Stepchild
- Building boards since: 2001
- HQ: Blaine, WA, USA
- History lesson: Sean Johnson founded Stepchild snowboards with his mate Brad Richmond in 2000 because he was “sick and tired of retards ruining snowboard companies”. Johnson himself has been riding since 1985 and was part of the industry for ten years before starting the company, so he knows what he’s talking about when he says “We don’t want the industry to dictate to us what we should be doing about marketing, boards and advertising. We just try to concentrate on stoking out the kids.”
- Ridden by: Stoked out kids obviously. Mostly stoked out kids who wear badass bandannas, XXXL pants and walk around saying “Uhhhh son!” a lot. Can’t think who they’re trying to emulate…
