They say: Who hasn’t dreamt of being rescued by CJ Parker on Malibu Beach?
We say: A reasonably high-tech, but still soft-flexing freestyle stick that’ll forgive most mistakes. Apparently the ‘Pamrock’ rocker-camber combo on this board was inspired by Pamela’s body shape!
Tester says: Soft, playful, and let’s face it, damn good-looking. Loved riding her!

About Nidecker
- Building boards since: 1984
- HQ in: Rolle, Switzerland
- History lesson: Nidecker is the oldest company on this list. Started in 1887 the company made its first few bucks flogging carts to Swiss peasants. In 1912, a far-sighted Henri Nidecker saw the potential in sliding on snow and made his first skis. A few generations later, a younger Henri Nidecker was similarly quick of the mark with snowboards, making his first ones in 1984. Nidecker was big in the early nineties, but then kind of went off the boil a bit. It wasn’t until recently, when another, even younger Henri Nidecker took over that the company regained its snowboarding mojo.
- Ridden by: The Skoda of snowboard brands, Nidecker used to be a brand for nice, competent, but ever-so-slightly dull Swiss types. These days though, with its Pammy Anderson and Antti Autti lines, anything goes.
