UPDATE: Check out our review of the Best 2018/2019 Snowboard Bags here
Getting your gear is one thing – getting it to the snow is another.
For that, you’ll need a board bag. A simple sleeve will keep your gear (and your car) safe on short-haul dryslope and indoor missions, but for everything else it’s wise to invest in a ‘coffin’ style bag.
Modern board bags offer high capacities and plenty of compartments, so keeping your various bits and pieces organised is a breeze. With robust handles and wheels, lugging them around the airport is relatively painless too.

Aim to get something with outer material that’s light enough to confound budget airline check-in staff, but sturdy enough to withstand their baggage-handlers. Also, double-check that whatever you get is a decent size for your board – the only thing worse than having a bunch of extra length flopping around at one end, is not being able to get your steed in the bag in the first place.
Whichever model you go for, don’t leave it until the night before packing it out. If you set aside some time to figure out all of its secrets, you’ll be one happy traveller. Read our guide to packing your snowboard bag, then take a look at some of our favourites for 2016/17.
