The Winter X Games Real Snow event is back for a second year and you can view all of this year’s sick edits right here. In this event, eight of the world’s best urban riders are invited to submit a 60 second long edit that is then voted on by the public as well as a panel of judges.

This year, up step Jed Anderson, Bode Merrill, Dan Brisse, Scott Stevens, Halldor Helgason, Pat Moore, Nic Sauve and Louis-Felix Paradis battle it out for the whopping $100,000 on offer.

The level of jibbing was through the roof, on the roof and sometimes even over the roof. No urban feature was left untouched and it’s going to be a bloody tough job separating this lot to pick a winner. Have a look at the videos and then have a vote here!

Possibly the best urban shredder in the world at the moment, Bode Merrill gets creative in the concrete jungle. This edit may have what it takes to go all the way, including a double backflip over a street feature, a massive one footed transfer to boardslide and a super smooth boardslide on the c shaped edge of an underpass…

Jed Anderson is the classic combination of old and new school. Combing tight pants with a longer board and tighter stance, Jed has a style of his own. Although this part somewhat lacks some of the hammers that dominate other rider sections, the technical rail tricks are flawless and the air ventilation handplant is ridiculous

Louif Paradis took second place last year and will be looking to step it up a notch this year. The French-Canadian urban machine has submitted a very strong part which includes some sick rail trickery including a nosepress frontflip out and also some wallride to back lip creativity

Pat Moore goes bloody big, nuff said. This edit is absolutely ridiculous for the amount of huge tricks crammed into a 60 second edit. This part is all about the combination of huge urban transfers combined with technical subtlety. His gap 270 boardslide is one of the biggest I have seen.

The Icelandic demigod is at it again and shows just why he is a constant force to be reckoned with. Halldor Helgason is so smooth and somehow manages to maintain his style even on the biggest of features. We tip this section to go all the way and it’s easy to see why. What other rider throws a back 10 on a street feature?

Nic Sauve goes a different route during this edit, as an early season injury clearly held him back somewhat. There are some big tricks during this part and it’s also interesting to get the rider’s perspective on how injury can affect snowboarding…

Now then, here is a contender. Scott Stevens is a man with incredible board control and a phobia of strapping in his feet. This part is super creative although it doesn’t include some of the bigger features. But you know what, who cares? This is definitely an edit which could see Scott take home the moneys.

The Minnesotan is at it again. Last year’s winner, Dan Brisse, returns with another insane edit and he who would bet against him might be a foolish (wo)man. Brisse goes absolutely huge again in this part and rides away from hits that few would even consider attempting without a paramedic nearby. The miller flip over a railing onto a down ledge is obscene.
