Quiksilver just dropped a new behind the ad edit featuring Will Lavigne (check it out below) and it jogged our memories about his full part that we watched a little while back but never got round to posting here on the site. So here’s a Will Lavigne double post for your viewing pleasure.
Will is one of many riders who learnt the ropes in the cold, snowy streets of Quebec city. Although he absolutely slays rails (you don’t get 270-ons much more proper than how Will does ’em), Will actually made a name for himself in snowboarding as a jumper and is pretty handy at sending it deep in the park and on backcountry kickers (the huge switch backside 720 at 2:55 is all the proof you’ll ever need). This is footage from Will’s 2011/2012 season and was filmed and edited together by Quiksilver team manager Trent Ludwig. If you, like us, accidentally let this part slip under your radar don’t let the same thing happen twice – be sure to hit that play button.
Next up is a behind the scenes look at what goes into shooting a street rail. In this case, it’s the opening shot of Will’s full part above. Not the heaviest or most difficult of tricks by any means but it says a lot that Will got it second try. Will is criminally underrated and we’re looking forward to seeing new footage of him in the what will be one of the most anticipated urban films of next year: Déjà vu.
