Whilst we’ve seen video after powder-filled video from the West Coast of North America – British Columbia, Washington State and Tahoe etc. – it’s very rare to see freeride footage coming from the other side of the country. Far from being another Biggie-Tupac coastal rivalry, it’s because for the most part there just isn’t the vertical or the snow depth to make it a contest – until last year that is.
With one of the worst seasons ever on the Pacific Coast, the Eastern states got a record hammering, meaning that areas like Newfoundland suddenly became ripe for a filming trip. Beau Bishop and Trevan Salmon took full advantage and migrated over the country from BC for episode two of their Turn & Burn series and finding bottomless powder right down to the shore as a reward.
It’s a total treat to see full on face shots, rooster tails and pillow lines getting slayed in a destination we’d never have considered before, and it’s fully given us the wanderlust to
