‘The Art of Flight’ will drop on 8th September

Brain Farm’s next snowboard epic, The Art Of Flight, has a release date: it will be available in Blu-Ray, DVD and digital formats on 8th September, one day after the premiere at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

We, along with the rest of the snowboarding world, have been excited about this one ever since the teaser first appeared online back in February. So far we’ve had to endure 146 days of this knowing-about-it-but-not-getting-to-see-it state of limbo. It’s of some comfort to learn that there’s only another 59 days left to go. We’re over the hump….

While we’re on the subject, it’s great that movies are now available to download straight away (often for a fraction of the cost of picking one up in person), but it’s possibly the death knell for video ‘premiere’ tours on these shores. Only a few years ago riders would pile along to bars, clubs and snowdomes to get their first look at the likes of DC Mtn.Lab and It’s Always Snowing Somewhere. When F*** It and 9191 did the rounds in the UK last season, they had been available to buy for some time. If you ask us, it’s not quite the same when half the folkin the place have already seen the flick on iTunes. How long til the companies don’t even bother putting on screenings?
