THE TECH FILES – Horsefeathers’ Addicted to Powder Outerwear

Riding powder – it’s just awesome, isn’t it? That feeling of floating and bouncing your way down a face, leaning back and slashing, giving yourself a solid faceshot far from the motorway pistes… nothing comes close. The guys at Horsefeathers are as hooked on ripping angel poop as we are, and as such have cooked up a new line focussed on performing on the deep days – after all, to get the most out of your time away from the resort crowds, you need rock solid, reliable gear and this is why they went all-in on a new, hi-end special edition line: AddictedToPowder

To develop this range they worked with team rider Tyler Chorlton, a seasoned pro who is equally at home on huge kickers as he is on huge faces. Tyler personally contributed ideas to and tested each item in the range, giving you the comfort of knowing that they have been tried to the limits and can handle whatever conditions your adventures throw at you! #addictedtopowder

“I set out to do tricks on various features of all different shapes and sizes and most importantly: out of the way of the crowds, in total silence and harmony with the mountain before drop in, into deeeep pow!” Tyler Chorlton

CARNES Jacket

15.000 MM WATERPROOFNESS, 10.000 GM BREATHABILITY

In many ways this is the same jacket as the Simon – it packs the same punch in terms of waterproofness and breathability, has the same amount of Primaloft insulation, and shares all the same features – from cuffs and gaiters to one-pull adjustability.

Again, it uses mechanical stretch nylon and has a regular fit for comfort and performance. Where it differs is in the pocket placement and overall styling – the Simon has more of a classic mountainwear look, while the Carnes has a bit of street swagger to it.

Riders who want the protection for powder days but without the look should definitely check this out.

When the mercury heads way south you’ll be glad to have the Walsh jacket in your armoury.
