The Stale Mod is the most specific in the pro’s range and his go to for getting the job done in competitions. Built to run faster and jump higher than everyone else this is definitely one to watch out for.

Not that it will be hard to spot; chances are you’ll be seeing the base graphic a lot as the bright yellow blur of send 30 feet above you in the air…Unless you’re the one stood on it of course.

Who Is The Rome Stale ModL For?

All freestyle aficionados will enjoy this board that’s built for the biggest booter line you can find. If you’re into spending as little time on the floor as possible then this might be the one for you!

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

The Stale Mod is undeniably the send stick amongst the Stale quiver. Although all of his boards are made to hold their own anywhere on the mountain the Stale Mod is stocked full of extra jet fuel & ready to take-off at the lightest touch.

Like all self-respecting freestyle decks it comes in a true twin shape so that you can have a reliable and identical response underfoot regardless of your stance.

There’s no beating the classics when you’re looking for pop and response and the Keep It Positive camber profile is just a traditional camber through and through, tip-to-tail. Pair this with the fairly stiff flex and you’ve essentially got a springboard underfoot.

You can really load this thing with tension for maximum launch potential and when you’re loading an edge for a big old spin that stiffer flex helps to provide a firm edge grip to take off from without washing out.

Construction and Materials

It’s under the bonnet you’ll find the secret sauce that makes this board such an unapologetic monster. First off, there’s the SuperPop Core and again, Rome aren’t mucking around with the marketing names. This thing’s the lightest and most responsive core Rome offers and utilises a blend of 20mm Paulownia strips and 10mm Poplar strips.

Next up is the fibreglass bread for this delicious wood sandwich. On both sides of the core are Biax fibreglass laminates that add a little bit more torsional play and pressability back into this stiffer board for some extra creativity on the mountain. Impact Plates help to dampen the chatter and soften the blow of heavy landings while the SinterSpeed Base will have you moving fast than my guts after a late-night kebab.

But the big talking point are the Carbon Omega Hotrods that are milled into the core in a V shape in the tip and tail. These things are like steroids for pop and give the Stale Mod such a turbo charged snap that you actually have a fighting chance in beating gravity once and for all.

Roundup

The Stale Mod is the board that the Scandinavian sender straps into when he wants to go bigger than everyone else. Every inch, both inside and out is finetuned for more launch power than a Space X rocket.

So if you’re in the market for a board ready to take on the mars mission that can actually handle spinning on all axis then look no further than the Stale Mod.
