UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Rome Agent here
The Details:
For a few seasons now, the Rome Agent has been available as both a camber board and a rocker. This year is no different – although why they insist on calling this one a ‘rocker’ when it’s got a hybrid profile is anyone’s guess.
There is a small rocker section between the feet, but there’s no ignoring the camber bend that dominates the profile. Obviously that’s not a bad thing, as it gives you plenty of bite on firmer snow.
What rocker there is has its uses too, of course; it makes presses easier and improves float in the powder – as does the shape, which has a slightly extended nose.
That aside, this rides like a true twin, so get tricking on it whenever possible – and we’re talking bigger hits rather than low-level jibbing. A carbon rod in the core improves pop, and acts as a shock absorber when landing, while a strip of material called ‘Zylon’ runs from nose to tail to make it even more responsive when you’re pegging it.
As you go further up the size range, the Rome Agent Rocker is available as a mid-wide; a great option for those who want a bit of extra girth without getting the edge-to-edge sluggishness that a fully wide board often has.
