The Details:
If you’re looking for something to take on urban missions in the dead of winter, the last thing you want to buy is a pricey model packed with loads of tech that you’re not even going to need. What you require is something more like the Ride Crook.
The Ride pro team’s street-slayer of choice is a stripped-down affair, with a 100% Aspen wood core that’s tough and durable. This thing can take one hell of a beating, especially when you factor in the urethane sidewalls that absorb heavy impacts. The extruded base won’t need much attention, but when the time comes it’s easy to get it back to its best.
And you don’t have to be a rail rat to like this. While the gentle rocker sections on the base are great for pressing and avoiding painful hang-ups, it’d also suit the intermediate rider who’s looking for something stable, forgiving and fun on the piste.
Thanks to the no-frills construction, this is one of the most affordable boards out there, so it won’t take long to get your money’s worth out of the Crook. As they’re fond of saying over at Ride HQ: “full performance at a price that’s criminal”.
