Nidecker’s gone down memory lane for their 35th year anniversary and decided to redo some of their old school classics. The Nidecker Pro Pipe was first introduced to the world back in ’94, and has been evolving every year since.

With a standard camrock profile Nidecker’s made sure the Pro Pipe is here to please the masses. Positive camber in between the feet works to ensure a strong edge hold – keeping things snappy and happy at the same time. The rocker at tip and tail makes for a slightly more mellow feel and eases up the turn initiation slightly.

“With camber in between the feet you can be sure to get a good edge hold – keeping things snappy and happy at the same time”

There’s a little more nose than tail, but you’re still able to ride switch without too much issue, it should handle pretty well whichever way you decide to ride. You’re setback down the board slightly, so you’ll be able to drive more with your back leg through your carves.

The Pro Pipe is constructed using Nidecker’s Premium Sandwich technique. By adding Carbon and Kevlar to the board Nidecker has made the board more poppy while also improving its level of shock absorption. Add the light, strong and super responsive core to the mix and you’ve got yourself a bulletproof beast – seriously this thing can take one hell of a beating.

The Pro Pipe has made a comeback after 15 years and we’re stoked they’ve brought back this classic. The old school design combined with the advanced tech is a winner in our book.

Tester’s Verdict

“Firstly, how about those graphics! A nod to the past from Nidecker and I dig it.

I loved this board, it’s one that I rode for way longer than I had TO for testing. As an all mountain charger, the Pro Pipe offers fun and progression in all aspects of daily shredding. On the groomers the edge hold is solid and it drives you through your carves, loading up and popping you into your edge change.

“It is a directional twin but feels great riding switch.”

The camber means that this thing boosts any side hits or rollers you come across and stomps the landing. Hitting rollers at high speed felt super comfortable and gives you heaps of confidence just to pop and send it.

It is a directional twin but feels great riding switch. Tip and tail have a slight rocker to them, and this helped when getting into presses and buttering. Took a little while to find the sweet spot but when you commit and get there, the board has a real nice locked in feel in a press.

I would say that the Pro Pipe is up there for an intermediate/advanced rider who is after an all mountain board that really charges when you let it rip.”
