Nidecker have taken the binding world by storm over the last five years. Their hugely popular Supermatic family now spans three distinct tiers – the accessible OG, the range-topping Carbon, and the LT sitting squarely in between. For winter 2026/27, it’s the middle child’s turn in the spotlight: an upgraded baseplate that includes a slick style refresh, and a choice of seven classy colours that Apple would be proud of.

Why We Chose The Nidecker LT Supermatic:
This latest iteration has nailed the speed-entry sweet spot with a stylish new baseplate, a punchier colour lineup, and all the hands-free convenience that made the original a monster hit. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Who Is The Nidecker LT Supermatic For?
Confident all-mountain riders who want the ultimate in speed-entry convenience without giving up performance. Sitting between the entry-level OG Supermatic and range-topping Carbon version, the LT brings a stiffer, more responsive feel plus a much sharper look – ideal for anyone who’s sold on hands-free entry but wants their bindings to turn heads too.
Baseplate
The star of this year’s refresh is the new Auto S baseplate – a svelte rework of the standard Supermatic chassis, with increased rockered corners that let the board flex more naturally. Step in through the reclining highback, push down on the heel pedal and you’re instantly locked in and ready to ride – no bending down required. If you find yourself teetering at the top of some gnarly sheet ice (or you’re lucky enough to be in bottomless pow) the dual-entry design means you can still use the ratchets by hand instead, exactly like a regular two-strap.
Yes, the baseplate carries a touch more weight than a standard binding, but in our opinion the difference is overplayed – it’s more noticeable under your arm than under your feet, and anything, we found the wider footprint actually feels more powerful on edge. A 2.5-degree canted BankBed keeps your stance properly aligned, while Slip-N-Grip plates cut friction so your foot slides in cleanly without sacrificing any of that cushioning. The Offset Multi-Disk mounting system works with four-hole or Channel inserts, with enough adjustability to dial in stance width and toe-heel position – there’s even a discreet slot on the underside to hide an AirTag. Chef’s kiss.

Straps and Highback
The LT’s highback is a worthwhile upgrade on the base model, adding a touch more lateral support for driving hard into turns and landing with confidence. ‘Speed entry spines’ on the inside help your boot glide straight into place with minimal fuss. The straps pick up on the same streamlined theme. The Exo-Frame S Hybrid ankle strap is a single piece of injected TPU – lightweight, tough, and shaped with a smoother undersurface that makes the whole entry motion feel effortless. Nidecker’s Active-Strap tech automatically lifts everything clear when you recline the highback, so there’s nothing to catch your boot on the way in.
Up front, the Hexo Toecap 2.0 is 3D moulded to hug the corner of your boot, and it’s asymmetric too – flip it between feet and you can fine-tune the fit depending on your boot’s own shape. LSR 2.0 buckles lock automatically in both directions the moment you stop ratcheting (older models required a button press) so your preferred tension is always ready to go and easy to adjust on the move. All in all, it’s a fine-tuned design that our tester struggled to fault.

Roundup
Is the LT worth the money? If you’re already sold on hands-free entry but want a little more response – without stretching all the way to carbon – then yes, easily. The latest version doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel, but it refines an already solid product. Seven colourways and a noticeably cooler-looking baseplate (this thing can hold its own alongside any classic two-strap) add up to a binding that’s as close to ‘guaranteed hit’ as it comes.
