The Details:
New for 2015/16, the Never Summer Funslinger is the Colorado-based brand’s foray into the world of asymmetrical boards. Softer than the Cobra and Proto HD, it’s much more park-orientated than the rest of the line. Of course, that’s in no way a bad thing.
The profile is what NS call their ‘Ripsaw’ blend of rocker and camber. Both the rocker section between the feet and the camber sections under the inserts have been exaggerated, meaning less margin for error but more grip and power in the turns when you want it.
Whether it’s a slick pipe wall or a freshly-groomed kicker run-in, it’ll hold an edge like nobody’s business. Meanwhile the rocker gives you peace of mind on solid features such as rails and ledges, as well as a bit of extra buoyancy in the powder.
The newly-developed core is thinner than most, making it lightweight and maneuverable – and with a three-year warranty, you don’t have to worry about it snapping. Among its other features are the carbon-reinforced nose and tail, underfoot rubber dampening and a rapid sintered base.
If the park’s your place, the Never Summer Funslinger could be the steed that keeps you lapping all winter long.
