The new Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker is here to ease the transition as much as possible. The outline may be directional, but it feels much more like a freestyle-friendly true twin under foot. Such boards can struggle in deep snow, which is why a lot of backcountry freestyle powerhouses favour directional twins, but steps have been taken to address this.
The hybrid profile of the Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker has a rocker section in the middle with makes it much easier to keep afloat in deep snow, as the board naturally bends up at each end. While you need to still put some work in, it’s way less than what you’d need for a cambered equivalent.
When charging down a shaped run-in towards a gap jump (or when it’s park day), the multiple bite points of the Magne-traction edges add to the Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker’s grip on firmer snow – which is already pretty good thanks to the camber sections under the bindings.
For throwing down both within the resort boundaries and far outwith them, the Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker is a fine choice. Cool name, too.
