In amongst Jones’ quiver of surf shapes and carbon-enhanced weapons sits this, the Jones Explorer snowboard. If you’re after something from Jeremy Jones’ collection that will feel just as home in the park or on the piste as it does in a powder bowl, then this would be the one.
The Jones Explorer is as all-mountain as they come, with a slightly directional shape and camber/rocker blend underfoot. Camber between the bindings – combined with a subtle wave in the line of the edge – ensures you get plenty of edge bite, and there’s pop on hand when you need it.

The rocker sections at each end of the board make the Jones Explorer less of a precision tool than something with full camber, so you can enjoy smooth edge changes (particularly when the light bevel around the contact points is factored in). The rocker at the nose is slightly longer, improving float in deep snow.
With an all-poplar core and biax fibreglass, this definitely offers a mellower ride than some of its turbo-charged stablemates. If you like a board that’s relatively easy to manipulate torsionally, then you’ll love this.
The Jones Explorer can live up to its name, but is just as content within the resort boundaries. There’s a splitboard version available too, which serves as a fine alternative to the stiffer, less forgiving models that dominate that market.
