Join the splitboard party with the Burton Flight Attendant. This board is a crowd pleaser and will, without a doubt, continue to please riders around the globe. The Burton Flight Attendant split is the exact same shape as the traditional Flight Attendant so, if you’re one to enjoy the fun feel of the OG Flight Attendant but longing to take it out for a hike, give the split version a go.

If you’re looking for an aggressive weapon to take you down the backcountry mountains, the Flight Attendant might not be the fast and furious board you’re after. More of a mellow fellow, the Flight Attendant is a fun, playful ride that’ll let you enjoy spending time away from the crowds.

“The directional camber profile gives you just the right amount of pop and stability you need, while the 10mm taper makes it easier to cruise through the white puffy powder fields”

The directional camber profile gives you just the right amount of pop and stability you need, while the 10mm taper makes it easier to cruise through the white puffy powder fields – and with it being a split, you can be sure to reach those quiet untouched fields we all dream of. This board is light, with a 700g squeezebox core – a core, it’s worth underlining, that allows for more snap, stability, and manoeuvrability.

As with any Burton board, the Flight Attendant Split’s mounting system is based on Burton’s signature Channel technology. Both halves of the board have their own channels, so it becomes quick and easy to mount the bindings. However, you won’t need Burton bindings to make it work so if you’re one to mix and match… no problem.

If you’re keen to buy a split and are all about diving into the deep rather than charging down the steep, the Burton Flight Attendant splitboard is the friend you’ll need. It’s a fun foray into the backcountry that’ll leave you feeling like you’ve just had the flight of your life.

Tester’s Verdict

“Absolutely loved this splitboard. Really nice mid-to stiff flex board which rides super good on pistes. Although this is a directional shape with set back camber you really get a great freestyle feel on-piste and a good amount of pop for a backcountry board. Off-piste backcountry riding is where this board really shows you the goods, offering fantastic cruisy floaty feel with each turn. The tapered rockered nose gives the board great lift in powder. However, being a slightly more mid-flex board the edge control is super efficient whist still maintaining the stability for a smooth ride.

I found this easy to convert to and from touring / snowboarding mode. The separate sides of this board definitely seem to connect for riding better than some of Burton’s earlier splitboard models. The new connector clip which, in my experience, has in the past felt a little loose and moved is much improved. In touring mode the board felt lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.

All in all, this board is really an all-mountain freeride charger. Whether your hitting some gnarly chutes or going for a nice mellow tour this board will not disappoint. Definitely an intermediate to advanced ride.

Burton G3 Skins: These are a good set of skins. Excellent grip on the snow for uphill travel and a smooth glide over the snow when touring. They fitted really well to the board and were easy to apply and remove. The glue used stuck really well to the base of the board and didn’t move once applied. I would definitely recommend these Burton skins to anyone looking for a reliable and tough set of skins.”
