UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2018/2019 Bataleon Magic Carpet here
The Details:
After introducing Triple Base Technology (aka 3BT), the guys at Bataleon didn’t just hang up their thinking caps and congratulate themselves on a job well done. They continue to tweak and perfect the concept every winter, and 2015/16 sees the debut of their new powder hunter – the Bataleon Magic Carpet.
3BT has earned several plaudits for its performance in powder, and the unique configuration found on the Magic Carpet turns that up to 11. The side sections of the base are wider which enhances the float, and it’s the same both ways so that – unlike many pow sticks – you can ride it just as well switch.
There might not be many lengths to choose from, but the extra width means that you can get away with downsizing from your normal choice and enjoying a responsive, manoeuvrable board that’s great fun for sharp turns in the pow.
While your nose and tail will therefore be shorter than normal, both ends are reinforced with carbon that will ensure that you still get pop and stability at speed.
A lightweight layer of Kevlar further strengthens the core, making it a snappy and responsive carver that’s great to ride even when there’s no powder around.
