UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Bataleon Fun.Kink here
Bataleon’s patented Triple Base Technology will never win over every rider on the planet (we’re looking at you, corduroy-addict speed freak with vice-like bindings, a disturbing carbon fetish, and a waxing iron called Charlene). It’s great for so many things, though, so if you’ve never tried it before then the Bataleon Fun.Kink snowboard – a mellow-flexing ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously – is a great place to start.

In a nutshell, a board with Triple Base Technology (aka ‘3BT’) has a concave shape at the cose and tail. A centre section of base makes contact with the snow when you’re
straightlining, but the side channels are slightly raised. ‘SideKick’, a raising of the edges at the board’s widest points, has been applied too.
This all makes for smooth, surf-like turns, and a reduced risk of dignity-stripping edge catch in the snow. You don’t have to change your riding style to master the Bataleon Fun.Kink, but you might find yourself getting a bit more adventurous with butters, presses and general spontaneity.
