UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019-2020 Bataleon Distortia here
The new-look Bataleon Distortia women’s snowboard may boast a more intimidating shape and colour scheme, but it’s essentially the same all-mountain funmobile as before. If freestyle’s your focus but you don’t limit yourself to the park, look closer.
The true twin shape and medium flex mark this out as a trick machine, and in many ways it is. Thanks to X-shaped carbon stringers under each foot, it’s a little more responsive than it might otherwise be, yet maintains its longitudinal softness. So you can rely on it to react at speed for the bigger features, as long as you’ve got your wits about you, then ease off the gas and have a mellow butter session.

Should things get powdery, the Bataleon Distortia has the edge over similarly-shaped boards due to the brand’s Triple Base Technology. The ‘3D’ shaping in the nose and tail make this more naturally floaty in deep snow, so you don’t have to work your back leg as hard.
The base isn’t the quickest around, but it’s no slouch either, and is tough enough to tolerate plenty of abuse on the metal in the park. Your ollies get a bit of a boost from the carbon rod that runs between the inserts, with the camber profile playing its part too.
All in all, the Bataleon Distortia is an excellent daily driver that can truly do it all.
