The Quiksilver Dome Jacket is one of the most eye-catching outerwear items for winter 2021. This retro-style jacket is a blast from the past with a nice bit of modern style tweaking to it to keep things fresh. You definitely won’t be feeling out of date rocking this one on the slopes.
Even if the jacket might look like something from the late 80s, it ranks ten times higher in quality than anything you’d find in a secondhand shop. Its 10K waterproof rating means that the jacket does a good job in keeping the elements out, keeping you sheltered from water and wind.

As for the jacket’s breathability, which ranks at 5K, it’s sufficient enough to keep you dry whether you decide to rock it on or off the hill. However, it’s not made to be taken out into the backcountry. Something to be thinking about if you’re all about heading off the beaten path (if that sounds like you, look for something with a higher waterproof and breathability rating).
Quiksilver is also playing its part when it comes to keeping Mother Nature happy. For 20/21, 95% of their mountain wear is made with eco-friendly manufacturing processes and materials (the Dome Jacket is part of that 95%). For the insulation, Quiksilver’s used Warmflight Eco Insulation – which has a fill weight of 40g and is made from recycled PET bottles.
The Quiksilver Dome Jacket doesn’t lack in features either. The hood is fixed but adjustable and you can wrap it around your helmet easily. You can also attach the jacket to any pair of Quiksilver pants (take a look at the Quiksilver Beater Pant if you want to match) to prevent snow from getting in and warmth from getting out.
If you’re looking for a good-looking jacket that works equally well on and off the mountain, the Dome is worth a look.
