Living by Jack O’Neill’s words, “The ocean is alive, and we’ve got to take care of it”, the brand is committed to protecting the oceans for generations to come. Back in 2015, O’Neill launched their O’Neill Blue collection as a part of their “Ocean Mission”, with new guidelines that categorized a product as O’Neill Blue when at least 30% of the main fabric was made with responsible materials. For FW21, they’ve raised the bar to 40%, with the women’s O’Riginals Anorak and O’Riginals bib pants being part of the collection too.

Who Are The O’Neill Women’s O’Riginals Anorak and O’Riginals Bib Pants For?

Made for the ladies who value unique designs, high quality, and sustainability. The O’Riginals Anorak is designed with multipurpose in mind. With a sleek design and light insulation, it works as well on the hill as it does off it. Both the jacket and the pants feature 50% RPET REPREVE, meaning they’ve been made using recycled plastic bottles.

Materials and Construction

With a 10K waterproofing and breathability rating, the material is made to keep you dry from both the outside elements and on the inside. By repelling water on the outside, even wet snowfall won’t be able to ruin the day, whilst the outerwear’s breathability abilities take care of keeping you dry on the inside too.

When we sweat, breathable outerwear allows for the sweat to evaporate out into thin air, leaving us dry. This is exactly the reason why we do not want jackets and pants to be fully waterproof, as that means the sweat wouldn’t be able to escape.

O’Neill has also used 50% REPREVE in the making of both the jacket and the pants, a recycled fibre that contains recycled materials including post-industrial waste and used plastic bottles.

Fit and Features

For FW21 O’Neill has renewed their emphasis on shaping and put some extra thought into their female fits thus providing for an even more functional and feminine style for this season. Even if the jacket comes in a relaxed fit and the pants in a regular one, the products are cut to flatter the female figure.

Both the jacket and the pants have critically taped seams, further adding to their ability to keep water out. For added breathability, ventilation can be found in the legs of the pants. The jacket also has a handy pouch pocket on the front, where you can stash anything from gloves to snack bars.
