Who Are The O’Neill GTX Psycho Tech Jacket and GTX Mtn Madness For?

Made to deliver beyond the resort too, the O’Neill Gore-Tex Psycho Tech Jacket and Mountain Madness Pants are designed to keep you dry no matter the weather. As part of the sustainable O’Neill Blue collection, which FW21 makes up 83% of their whole collection this season, both the jacket and the pants are made from responsible materials.

Materials and Construction

If durability is what you’re looking for, anything Gore-Tex is a safe bet. Gore-Tex is known for producing some of the most waterproof, windproof and breathable fabrics around the globe, and with over half a century of experience, it’s safe to say these guys know what they are doing.

The Gore-Tex membrane contains over 9 billion microscopic pores, that are about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times bigger than a molecule of moisture vapour. What this means is that while water in its liquid form is unable to get through from outside, water as moisture vapour (sweat) can pass through to the outside leaving you dry and comfortable inside the jacket.

By using 100% recycled PET, O’Neill is also doing their part for Mother Nature and saving the landfills from being further polluted by plastic.

Fit and Features

Designed with a regular fit, both the jacket and the pants are tailored to flatter the shape and size of a body while still being of a more relaxed, looser fit around the chest, arms and waist.

Both the jacket and the pants feature an added RECCO reflector. The reflector is designed to reflect back the high-frequency signal of detectors used in rescue searches, increasing the chances of being found quickly in the event of an avalanche. However, it is not to be used as a replacement for your avalanche transceiver.

On top of that, the fully taped seams and the snow gaiters on the pants add to the outerwear’s ability to keep out water.

Gore-Tex is always a safe bet, and when the outerwear comes with an added RECCO reflector everything about it screams of its capability to tackle what lies beyond the limits of the resort.
