Who Are The DC Operative Jacket and Brigade Bib For?

This is high-performance outerwear designed to thrive in all environments. Whether you’re looking for an outfit for remote backcountry adventures or hitting rails on the streets of ice-cold cities, the Operative Jacket and Brigade Bib are equipped for that. The tough-as-nail material is waterproof, windproof, breathable, made from recycled materials and PFC free.

Materials and Construction

When we choose snowboard outerwear it is important for the fabric to be able to breathe. Why? Because, to protect us from overheating, our bodies begin to sweat. This is vital but also creates a risk for the body to cool down excessively if the moisture in the clothing starts removing heat from our bodies. Therefore it is extremely important for our outerwear to be breathable, especially if we are setting off on a longer backcountry mission without immediate access to proper shelter.

Not only is the fabric DC has used breathable, but the membrane is also 100% recyclable with a 100% recycled shell. By choosing to use Sympatex performance, Quiksilver is able to provide a jacket and a pair of pants that are waterproof, windproof, durable, and made from a 100% climate-neutral PFC free membrane, whilst also being OEKO-TEX® certified and bluesign® approved. Compared to the industry leader Gore-Tex, Sympatex is a more sustainable option while also scoring higher when it comes to comfort as the material has the ability to stretch considerably.

The Brigade bibs come as a shell, giving the option to layer up underneath if needed, whilst the Operative Jacket 40G Primaloft Black insulation keeps you warm without any added layers.

Fit and Features

Both the jacket and the pants come in a regular fit, giving you the option to layer up underneath if needed. DC’s regular fit equals a classic, roomy fit with no unnecessary bulk, articulated elbows and knees, which provide both form and function.

The hood on the operative is both 2-way adjustable and can be put away if needed. There’s also plenty of pockets to stash your valuables in – everything from the zippered handwarmer pockets to a zippered chest pocket and a zippered sleeve pass pocket.

You’ll also find a bunch of pockets on the bibs, like the zippered handwarmer pockets and a zippered back pocket. The elastic suspenders are also adjustable and to provide an even more accustomed fit there is an internal waist adjustment system.

Roundup

Always pushing, always progressing. That is the ethos of DC snow and that becomes clear when introduced to the choice DC has made when replacing Gore-Tex with a more sustainable option, Sympatex performance, in the DC Operative Jacket and Brigade Bib.
