The adidas Riding snowboard pants may never win the prize for Most Imaginative Name, but when it comes to style points they rack up the big numbers. They’re essentially the opposite of the OTT gangster-baggy cargo pants that were so big in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s – in 2016, clean and simple design goes a long way.
The 10K ratings of the adidas Riding pants are enhanced by fully taped seams which increase both durability and waterproofing. If you’re planning on a lot of backcountry expeditions, you’ll still want something with higher specs – but everyone else, from the beginner to the seasonaire, will find that these more than meet your needs.
“The cuffs on the outside have been reinforced with hard-wearing Cordura fabric, so they’ll last the distance even if you spend most of your winter hiking streetrails”
They’re definitely built with comfort in mind; the lining is extra-soft where that’s most needed (specifically at the waistband, fly and bum, as well as inside the pockets). The vents are located on the inside leg, and feature mesh guards that prevent snow from getting in.
