Adidas Snowboarding has upped their outerwear game massively for 20/21. Another great example of what their winter 2021 line has in store is the Adidas 3L 20K jacket, an item which can be paired with the Adidas 3L Bibs.
Bringing some tech with all that style, Adidas Snowboarding has focused on improving the technical quality of their outerwear for this season. In general, both waterproofing and breathability rate high, offering high-quality snowboard outerwear without sacrificing on style.
“The waterproofing ranks rather high at 20K, meaning this jacket can take on a lot”
3-layer jackets are in general of better quality and offer a higher-level comfort than 2-layer jackets. A 3L jacket consists of a ‘face fabric’ and a membrane bonded to it. The membrane is the layer that makes the jacket waterproof, whilst often a DWR coating is added on the ‘face fabric’ to repel water. Finally, lightweight backing fabric is added to the interior, which wicks moisture and transports it through the membrane and face fabric before evaporating out into the environment.
The waterproofing ranks rather high at 20K, meaning this jacket can take on a lot. Whether you want to take it out for some deep Japow snorkelling or a casual resort cruise, it will have your back.
Durability is key, and 3L jackets tend to be more durable than some of the cheaper alternatives. The more durable your snowboard jacket is, or clothing in general, the longer it will last, reducing your economic output and also your environmental impact.
You might think that a jacket possessing all these hefty features comes at a sky-high price. However, the Adidas 3L 20K Jacket is a rather cheap option in comparison to what else is out there. On top of that, it also looks rad. Money well spent.
