Why we chose the Salomon Launch Lace STR8JKT Snowboard Boots: It’s a classic boot, with a futuristic tech flair.
Utilising their STR8JKT technology, Salomon have managed to make a relatively soft, traditional lace boot that has the lock and heel hold of a much stiffer, more aggressive boot.
Traditional laces on the outer are the most reliable way of fastening your boots, they’re super unlikely to break and if they do, it’s no hassle to rethread a new lace. They also give you the most control of the fit, as you’re able to have the boot as tight or loose as you want the whole way up the laces.

The STR8JKT is a strap that sits over the top of the foot, by the ankle. It’s tightened separately to the liner and outer laces to allow for a super customisable fit. Twisting the BOA on the outside of your boot cranks this strap down and locks your heel into place.
Being able to adjust this individually opens up a world of new options for your boots. If, for example, you wanted to have a really jibby, playful morning you could leave the outer laces super loose to soften up the boot and just crank the STR8JKT in to keep response.
