Burton Kendo 2019-2020 Snowboard Boots Review

Why we chose the Burton Kendo Snowboard Boots: Incredibly lightweight, yet massively supportive.

New for this season are the Burton Kendo snowboard boots. Burton have decided to introduce this performance-based boot to the market to please the lace lovers. It does remind us a bit of the Burton Rampant, but the Rampant is a more park specific boot whilst the Kendo aims to please riders who aim for more all-round performance. If you’re a lace kind of guy, looking for a performance boot, the Burton Kendo could be an ideal option.

The Kendo isn’t all too stiff considering it is made to be a performance boot, which is all part of its charm I suppose (a real people pleaser, this one).

Whether you were to take a lap through the park, hit the backcountry, or simply carve the groomers, this laced lovechild of Burton has the potential to keep your feet sorted.

Inspired by surfing and skateboarding, the EST optimised midsole gives you a better connection to the board. The EST lowers your centre of gravity, which in turn improves your board feel and gives you that nice surfy feeling.

Not only are these boots a sight for sore eyes, but they’re also an extremely comfortable place for your feet to be. The dual density EVA allows the feet to sit in a more natural position, increasing comfort and board control. The articulated cuff allows the boot to flex forward easily, and stops pressure points building over the boot.

Cold feet suck. We can all agree on that, and luckily Burton do too. To keep your feet nice and toasty, Burton lay a ‘Sleeping Bag’ liner down under the sole of your foot, which reflects heat back inside the boot. The liner also works to wick sweat away from your feet, which if left inside can get cold pretty damn quick.
