Switchback Eiki Pro 2018-2019 Snowboard Bindings Review

UPDATE: Check out our review of the 2019/2020 Switchback Eiki here

“While you can play a little loose with these, there’s no shortage of power through the turns”

Unlike the Twin, though, Eiki’s gone for the Miller ankle and toe straps, which are a bit mellower than the Eames alternatives. You get the same snug fit, but a bit more flex for those presses.

The foundation of the Switchback Eiki Pro bindings is the AERON baseplate, so while you can play a little loose with these, there’s no shortage of power through the turns. It’s a perfect match for Eiki’s pro model Lobster snowboard, which is built to be responsive from edge to edge but flexible from nose to tail.

And that’s before you factor in the matching graphics. For Eiki-style riding, you’d be a fool not to consider the Switchback Eiki Pro bindings.

Tester’s Verdict

Dan Wilsonsnowfit.co.uk

“Switchback is back with another version of the Eiki Pro’s. Matching up perfectly with the board of the same name, these bindings are developed for those riders who are wanting to achieve the same style as the legend himself.

“Maximum fun with minimal effort”

Using flat highbacks and the lightweight AERON base, this year’s Eiki Pros are not a binding to go unnoticed. They offered a loose, free-flowing ride, but never once did I feel unstable.

They were super comfortable and responsive, smooth from heel to toe and soft enough to be really playful. Overall these were a great binding that match up to what the Switchback and Lobster crews are trying to achieve, and that’s maximum fun with minimal effort.

If you want to smash out every trick in the Braindomness playbook, get yourself strapped in to a set of these bad boys and enjoy.”
