The Lily Drone Is Not Happening

Selfie drone fails to secure funding

If you were hoping for a shot of the Lily, you’d better track down Jussi Oksanen and ask if you can borrow his.

The ‘selfie drone’ was announced in 2015, and with the endorsement of the Finnish legend was set to get its hooks into the burgeoning flying action camera market. Unfortunately, the company has been unable to raise the necessary funds to bring the Lily to full production.

Even with a whopping $34 million raised since in pre-orders since they started taking them in June, the owners eventually had to accept that it wasn’t going to work.

It’s not the first piece of bad drone-related news we’ve had recently. Back in November, GoPro recalled their Karma model due to technical glitches. Still, if you’re desperate for a selfie drone then there’s always the Airdog¬†and the Hexo+.
