Gigi Rüf is a true modern day legend in snowboarding. With a technical riding style that many try to imitate but very few will better and an ability to do everything with a smile on his face, Gigi is both a ridiculously talented snowboarder and a big personality. This is another episode in Absinthe’s excellent rider profile series which combines testimonials from legends in their own right (Nicolas Müller, Romain de Marchi, Danny Kass and more) with some rad archive footage of Gigi. They totally hit the nail on the head by picking out that monstrous frontside 720 from 2004’s Pop as one of Gigi’s many career highlights – watch how far he sends it past his initial landing point!
If you missed them, check out similar profiles for Travis Rice and JP Solberg. They’re excellent as well!
