Whereas Andreas Wiig went all out in his Real Backcountry part this year, Iikka Backstrom has chosen the slower, more mellow route down the mountain. His trademark slow spins and tweaked out grabs make a stark contest to the initial triple-corking antics of the Norwegian.
Not that the mellow route is any less difficult mind you – that switch backside rodeo 720 at the end is about is hard as you can go without double dipping, whilst the regular and switch back 180s landing of huge cliffs blind take just as much skill to pull off.
The contest looks to be shaping up well this year: who do you reckon you’d put in front so far? Pat Moore, Jussi Oksanen and Mikey Rencz’s parts are all still to follow, so stay logged on for more powdery goodness very soon.
