Here’s the latest edition of Signal‘s Every Third Thursday, brought to you on Friday… Yeah, oops.

This time around Dave Lee and his gang put together two boards composed almost entirely of surf stringers, the wooden veneers that run through the middle of most surfboards. Whilst they do look gorgeous, kind of like the jewellery enterprising types make out of recycled skateboards, they also seem to perform pretty well, bringing a reasonable amount of stiffness whilst reducing weight.
It’s not the first time that an idea from ETT has resulted in something that could possibly be put into production, they had great success with their wheelchair board after all, but compared to the solar-charging board they ended up putting into production this year, this could be way more exciting.
After all, even skiers have been riding skate-influenced constructions for years now, shouldn’t it be about time that we could have the option too? Or are we missing something crucial here? As ever, let us know below.
