Today must be treat day. First we had Victor de Le Rue’s insane full part from Absinthe, now Pirates have released Gigi Ruf‘s clips from their latest flick: Perceptions.
There’s no other way to put it – he goes HUGE.
It’s ten years ago since Futureproof was released – featuring none other than Mr Ruf – a film which had a goal to produce something that would stand the test of time. We reckon it does, but just because something is still good ten years later, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be beat. It’s a bold claim, but this part is up there with that.
Starting on Antarctic icebergs and finishing up in some good old Japow, it mirrors how the full film was split up, but seeing all of Gigi’s stuff together is another experience entirely. There’s no other way to put it – he goes HUGE.
Our designer has always said watching Gigi ride is like seeing someone with a magic snowboard: he straps in then goes along for the ride. To be honest, there’s not another reasonable explanation for how he rides out of some of his lines. That rodeo 7 at 2.10 for example – what other human could hang on to that? But somehow he makes it look so stylee.
Those AK lines, Euro kickers and ‘natural’ rails are going to take some beating – this could be the Gigi Ruf part that we’re still watching in 2025.
