Retiring at aged 25 – having just won Olympic gold – was obviously no picnic for Kaitlyn Farrington. Since the news broke that a hereditary issue with her spine meant she had to give up freestyle snowboarding, she’s been looking for a way to keep her hand in with the sport she loves.
In this new video, Kaitlyn explains that from now on she’ll be chasing the powder – not to mention working on her carves. She also talks a little about what life was like before Sochi, including her decision to step away from Team USA and aim for the Olympics independently.
From the riding footage we see here, it’s clear she has an affinity for the deep stuff. Fingers crossed she’ll still be exploring the backcountry even when Sochi is a distant memory.
