Mathieu Crepel | Chione

Multitalent Mathieu Crepel drops his full season edit

Many good things hail from the beloved country of France – Napoleon, Cheese, Baguettes, Unisex toilets and Mathieu Crepel. At the age of 10, Mr Crepel was spotted by none other than Terje Haakonsen , and before the kid had even had the chance to spin 11 laps around the sun, he had become a fully sponsored professional snowboarder.

“Mathieu’s smooth style isn’t only visible when he’s attached to a snowboard, the guys is a pretty epic surfer too”

Known as probably one of the most accomplished competitive freestyle snowboarders to emerge from the land of Pain au Chocolates, Mathieu has never lost the love for the sport. He’s just dropped his full part and watching the guy making the most effortless looking turns in powder makes us like him a little more (if even possible).

Mathieu’s smooth style isn’t only visible when he’s attached to a snowboard, the guys is a pretty epic surfer too. And by epic, we mean ‘let’s hit Jaws’ kind of epic. Inspired by his love for water, he is also big on raising awareness for clean water initiatives and works as an ambassador for the organisation ‘From Snowflake to Wave’ in Anglet, France.

A few months back, Mathieu dropped Shaka’, a film that follows him taking on both mountains and waves. If you haven’t seen it yet, we highly advise you to treat yourself and take a moment to watch it.

We’re sure a few of you are wondering what epic looking old school pink snowboard Mathieu is rocking in parts of the edit – it’s the Nidecker Liberty, “the most laid back freeride board Nidecker’s ever had the pleasure to produce”. Another board that might have caught your eye in the powder parts thanks to its short yet powerful personality, is the Nidecker Mosquito – the ideal carving weapon that loves to set sail towards the backcountry.

Rider: Mathieu Crepel.
Filmed By: Sean Lucey, Jeremy Thornburg, Jon Ray, Pierre Frechou, Samuel McMahon, Damien Castera.
Edit: Samuel McMahon.
Music: ‘Sun Will Rise’ By Me Not You.
Supported by: Nidecker.
