Jamie Anderson Stomps a Frontside 1080 at Nine Queens!

In a great moment for progression in women’s snowboarding, yesterday Jamie Anderson stomped the shit out of a frontside 1080 mute at the Nine Queens event in Serfaus-Fiss, Austria.

There’s no wide shot of it just yet, but GoPro and Nine Queens have released this headcam clip, showing Jamie putting in a solid grab with only the faintest touch of a hand down at the end. It take one damn stylee rider to make headcam footage look good, so no doubt when we get the full picture it’ll be oozing with some of that classic Tahoe steeze.

I felt inspired and fuelled by the pink sky, insane mountain backdrop and the sick castle jump!

According to Anderson, she had already “landed a decent Front 10 at Breckenridge last week, but wasn’t super stoked on my style. Sessionning Nine Queens at sunrise today was magic, and I felt inspired and fuelled by the pink sky, insane mountain backdrop and the sick castle jump! With the sun peaking at 7am I was down to do the 10! I stomped my second try and was definitely on cloud 9.”

So it looks like Nine Queens is off to a good start then – with a whole host of some of the world’s best female riders also out there this week, hopefully this won’t be the last great moment. Who said big air events would push progression? Well said indeed…
