The Fanatics by Fanatic Snowboards

Fanatic: Excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion

Hands down, the guys could not have chosen a better name for this little piece of joy. We know the season is only just about to start and that it’s a bit early to be making bold statements but holy shit, this thing put a smile on our faces wider than the Jones Lone Wolf rotated 90 degrees. If you’re still stuck in the transition phase, sadly saying bye to the waves before embracing the snow once again, this film will remind you of why you started snowboarding in the first place.

“This thing put a smile on our faces wider than the new Jones Lone Wolf rotated 90 degrees”

When half of the Fanatic Snowboard team consists of kids born and bred in Innsbruck, it’s not exactly the surprise of the century that the guys decided to film the new Fanatic clip there. And to be fair, it all ties together nicely. After all, there’s only a few places in the world where people literally live and breathe snow to the extent they do in Innsbruck, hence the name “Fanatics”.

This 15-minute clip reflects all the different aspects of snowboarding we love so much – powder, street and park. There’s a lot of child-like creativity on show here, the kind we all carry before our brains become restricted by adult-mind rationality. Watch the boys shredding anything from sick powder lines to popping ollies over Landhausplatz (the local skate spot), and cruising down the snow packed streets of Innsbruck while high-fiving the locals.

If smashing down windows and cutting down trees doesn’t get you purring, then Dominik Brunner’s FTW jump at the very end will have you questioning if any jump you’ve ever stomped is even worth mentioning ever again.

(Also – David Luckerbauer, who are you and where have you been hiding all these years?)
