We managed to sneak our way onto the X Games slopestyle course this morning while practice was going on to film a follow cam run with Aimee Fuller as she warmed up for finals this afternoon. Riders spent the time getting their legs in gear and figuring out the speed (which thankfully, there was plenty of) for the three monstrous kickers. Here’s the raw footage from our GoPro.
While this is definitely a mellow run for Aimee with a cab underflip, backside 360 and a backflip (she stomped a double backie in the finals!) we reckon you get a pretty good sense of the airtime and how it feels on course. Believe it or not, I was more or less pointing it straight for the entire run (with speed checks on the knuckles so I would send it with her) and still couldn’t stay right on Aimee’s tail.
Aimee was moderately stoked with this run and was keen to go up and stomp it even cleaner but unfortunately went a little too big on the second hit. We, on the other hand, thought it was rad!
