Female snowboarders are something of a mystery – we absolutely rip on the mountain, possess a vocabulary that consists of words like ‘sick, gnarly, twat’ while wearing kitten patterned mitts and drinking prosecco straight out of the bottle. Basically, we’re absolutely badass with a hint of ladylikeness to us.

During the last years, we’ve picked up on how rad ladies around the world have taken it upon themselves to encourage others alike to take the ladylike badassness into the park. It’s not like we’re afraid of breaking our nails when taking a slam, it’s more the fact that the snowparks are usually very male-dominated, which may be intimidating if you’re faced with it on your own as a beginner.
Last weekend, we were invited out to Innsbruck, Austria, to take part in Slay Days, an all-girls shred event organised by Girls Are Awesome. The aim of the event is to bring a rad bunch of shrederellas together and make them feel more comfortable hitting features in the park, no matter what level you’re at. Four coaching lessons were offered to boost the confidence of the participants, while morning yoga sessions were held to pre-heat things up.
