Looks like the surgery went well… Billy Morgan is definitely back back back, qualifiying for the Laax Open 2016 men’s slopestyle final with the highest score.
We’ll have to wait until Friday’s final to see the seeded riders – Stale Sandbech, Mark McMorris and Peetu Piiroinen among them – but the quaalifier still featured big hitters such as Ulrik Badertscher and Tor Bergrem. Conditions were far from ideal, but Billy’s always able to deal with bad vis better than most, and yesterday was no different.
Meanwhile the women’s event was topped by American rider Julia Marino, in a tight contest that saw the top nine riders separated by only eleven points. She’ll meet Jamie Anderson in the final, who’ll no doubt want to win in Laax again after being bested by Christy Prior at last year’s Burton European Open.
