FWT 2016 – Alaska Preview

Bigger, badder

Live Stream begins at 5pm on Monday 21st March 2016 – watch it here!

After last year’s Freeride World Tour saw the first ever Alaskan stop – possibly one of the greatest in the tour’s history – there was no way the circus wasn’t going to roll into Haines again this winter.

The eight-day weather window begins tomorrow, so we’ll let you know as soon as the riders get the all-clear to drop. But until then, check out the official teaser above, featuring highlights from last year’s event.

The one to watch will be Sammy Luebke after he won the two previous stops in Chamonix and Fieberbrunn with some video part level riding. British legend Sascha Hamm managed to make the cut again, but sadly is a long way from recovering from injuries sustained in Austria. Rest up dude!

In the women’s heat, newcomer wildcard Marion Haerty killed it in each of her first ever three appearances to qualify in third, whilst tour veterans Anne-Flore Marxer and Estelle Balet hold joint first place with two events left!
